Brian Pope, Pittsburgh in the Round
Vadnais and Williams are the undisputed standouts of the group...Calliope may get the joke about chewing the scenery, but it’s truly Williams’s Melpomene that is making a five course meal out of Britton Mauk’s (literally) flashy and graffiti-covered set. Whether she’s perpetrating strange magic or leading her siren daughters in mean-spirited melody, she is deliciously evil and impossible to take your eyes off of.
Ms. Williams and Ms. Hayhurst are laugh-out-loud entertainers. As the muse of tragedy, Ms. Williams belts "Evil Woman" and will send shivers down your spine. Her snippy demeanor contrasts that of her previous CLO Cabaret role, Rhetta, in Pump Boys and Dinettes.
